Scenes Of Spaces CD
Scenes of Spaces, was recorded using predominantly piano, with layers of other sounds and instruments to create pieces, which were in isolation and also worked as a whole cd. The idea was to keep the pieces simple and have subtle changes which appear through the music. The titles I chose, were to add to the images that had come to me as I wrote the music, I wanted to have each piece unique yet connected to the other pieces.
Pavement CD
When I set out to write and record `pavement`, I had a clear set of parameters to work within. I wanted to create a cd, which would take the listener to a place with a strong atmosphere, which was predominantly dark, eerie with a sense of isolation. The actual process of recording was to improvise around a preconceived idea, and at times to keep the playing within a fixed musical idea, and at other times to allow the idea to expand and to be creative in the moment. At the mastering process, I edited and manipulated some of the sounds, and the music itself.
